About My Practice
How it Works
The first step is an initial consultation and assessment. This takes from one to three sessions. I then work with clients to determine which interventions will work best to empower them to reach their goals. I help individuals, couples, families, and groups identify problems and concerns, develop insight, understanding, and compassion for themselves and others. I want each client to recognize their own strengths and the positive aspects of their lives, while developing new coping skills and discovering new ways to lead a rewarding and satisfying life.
As the therapeutic process moves forward, goals are re-evaluated and changed if necessary and always in collaboration with the client. It is likely that during the therapy process a client will experience emotional responses and reactions that are unfamiliar and potentially intense or difficult to manage. It is important to remember that this is a very important part of the process and that it is my role to provide a safe and nurturing space to help you work through these challenges and increase your ability to cope and thrive.
